ISCC is a global sustainability certification system and covers all sustainable feedstocks, including agricultural and forestry biomass, circular and bio-based materials, and renewables This certification provides traceability along the supply chain and verifies that companies meet environmental and social standards. The certification provides objective third-party verification of critical control points in the supply chain. For producers, it is a mark of quality for customers, and will also enable co-processing of recycled and virgin materials and the use of credits (similar to the renewable energy industry). Without such certification, the viability and trust in truly circular solutions cannot be attained – and without this trust, the rapid implementation of successful technologies to address the waste plastics problem are put at risk.
